Services for US and International Clients
NRAM & Co. (ICAI Firm Registration No. 023031S) is a firm of Chartered Accountants in Hyderabad, India. We work with foreign companies setting up or running a business in India, Indian founders whose companies are incorporated abroad, and Non-Resident Indians who have income or assets in India. Most of this work is done remotely, by email and video call.
Scope: we are Chartered Accountants qualified in India and members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). We advise on Indian tax, accounting and regulatory matters. We are not US CPAs and do not prepare US federal or state tax returns; where a matter has a US or other foreign tax side, we work alongside your adviser in that country.

Frequently asked questions
Can a foreign company own 100% of an Indian company?
In many sectors, yes. India allows up to 100% foreign direct investment under the automatic route for a wide range of activities, subject to sector-specific caps and conditions. Some sectors need government approval or have lower limits. We check the rules for your activity before you incorporate.
Does an Indian subsidiary need a director who lives in India?
Yes. Every company incorporated in India must have at least one director who is resident in India. The other directors can be based abroad.
Do you prepare US tax returns?
No. We are Indian Chartered Accountants and advise on Indian matters. For US entities we can maintain the books in QuickBooks so your US CPA or enrolled agent can prepare the returns.
Can you work in our time zone?
We are based in India Standard Time (UTC+5:30). We schedule calls early morning or late evening in India so they fall within US or European working hours, and handle most work by email between calls.
What is transfer pricing and does it apply to us?
If your Indian entity transacts with its overseas parent or group companies, for example by providing services, the prices must be at arm’s length. Indian law requires documentation and, above certain limits, an accountant’s report each year. We prepare these for Indian group entities.
